Driving experience

Sequential shifting, a low seating position, and engine vibrations straight through your spine make the experience adrenaline inducing, to say the least. It feels like you're going twice as fast all the time – kind of like in a gokart.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

The total cost will depend on how many parts are purchased new, and primarily on the engine choice. Expect a total cost in the range of 4500–8000$.

Is it difficult to build?

Building any vehicle from scratch is a major project but with basic fabrication experience, patience and the plans it is achievable for garage builders like myself.

What's the top speed?

Enough... Still haven’t hit 5th gear!

Which engine should I use?

The most common choice for crosskarts are 600cc motorcycle engines. These engines provide the perfect amount of power and sound incredible. Alternatively, you can choose an ATV engine, which is cheaper, lighter, and has the added benefit of a built in reverse gear.

What size tubing is used?

A mix of 38, 32, 28 and 25 mm tubing is used. (1.5, 1.25, 1.125 and 1 inch tubing)

Are the plans metric or imperial?

All dimensions are listed in both millimeters and inches, except on the notch templates.
